Hey lovely people,
I hope you all are healthy and safe. My heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this fight. Even we lost very close people in this second wave. The battle is still on. Please do wear a mask, get yourself, your family as well as your household help vaccinated. Vaccination is the only way to win this battle.
Lockdowns, work from home, the pandemic has kept us away from a lot of things. Meeting friends, family, going for outdoor activities, spending time at a favorite cafe, shopping, etc.
While this pandemic is taking a toll on everyone emotionally and mentally, the best you can do for yourself is to at least indulge in some self-care activities. I am here sharing the top 5 self-care activities that have helped me.
You can indulge in these activities without much efforts. And, share this with your friends, families, people who need this, or share on your social media to inspire others.
I am listing down the top 5 self-care activities for you all, but there is no limit to self-care.
Pay attention to your breathing. Meditation helps lower anxiety. I’m not suggesting paying and joining some meditation classes, but I’m asking you to give some time to yourself, sit for 10 mins without doing anything. Sit and concentrate on your breathing. Relax, inhale and exhale slowly. Even if you don’t have an anxiety issue, you can still do this. Give time to your body.
It is not necessary to every time cuddle with a person. You can cuddle your pet too. Pets are a great source of positive energy. My whole life (from birth till now), I have never been without a pet. I have had many of them. Counting them, I had pigeons, parrots, love birds, an owl, fishes, finches and dogs, lotssssss of dogs. Even if we had lots of ups and downs, we spent time with them and felt everything normal. Dogs can substantially boost your mood and soothe you when you’re stressed.
It is crucial to have mental peace. There are lot many ways to do that. Join a Yoga or meditation batch, love dance – join that, or join any hobby classes you love to do. Taking live courses will help you more. You will have many new people to talk to, know them, and learn with them. It is essential to communicate with people even if it’s not related to work.
Nowadays there are many means to socialize with people you love. Apps like Zoom, WhatsApp calls, Instagram, Facebook, Google Duo, Facetime, and many others can help us connect to our loved ones anytime or anywhere in the world. Technology has made it easy for us all. My sister lives in Dubai, and my parents in the same city I stay in. I talk to her almost every day via Zoom! These are a great way to keep safe and socialize at the same time! Go, connect with your friends now! You take the first step!
Take out some time for DIY projects! It is always great to live in a surrounding with stuff made by you. I always feel good when I complete my DIYs. It’s not necessary that DIYs have to be related to interiors. It could be your desk, some outfit makeovers, hair DIY, food dishes DIY, etc. It gives a feeling of accomplishment when you see the finished item.
Bonus Point – Skincare
Having a Day-Night skin routine will always make you glow; you will never feel dull. DIY manicure and pedicure, give your body a treat at home. Just relax one day a month – order every meal from out, watch your favorite Netflix series, give a chumpy to yourself, do your manicure & pedicure, change your nail paint, wear your best outfit at home, click some pictures with your family, play Uno, etc.
There are many other things you can do for self-care, but these top 5 self-care activities mentioned above really work!
